It was probably 6 months after ending the longest relationship I had ever been in. I was in a constant struggle of learning to self validate and lean on other people for support. I had spent a long time just putting my head down and doing what I needed to do with the hope that one day I would look up and everything would be okay. I had gone through friendships in the span of months trying to figure out who my people were and really who I was. This was another painting of grief and accountability- and more than that it was learning to choose myself even if that meant ripping my own heart out and letting go of people that I had come to care about because I knew it was best for me. Learning that the temporary pain of letting someone go was better than being hurt by them over and over again for an infinite amount of time. This painting was the mark of truly going out onto my own and being okay with being myself but also being okay with being by myself.
